Top 8 Market Research Companies

Whether you’re looking to make money with some of the biggest market research companies out there, or you’re looking for someone to help out your business, I wanted to show you who the top dogs are when it comes to the Market Research sector located both in the United States, as well as the World.
- #1 Nielsen Company - Active in more than 100 countries. Their goal is to collect advanced data and help businesses turn that data into more information to help grow a brand / customer base.
- #2 WPP Group - Based in London. This is one of the World’s largest research companies. They employ over 140,000 employees, with locations stretched across 107 countries.
- #3 IMS Health Inc. - This company mainly deals with the pharmaceutical industry offering sales data, as well as consulting services.
- #4 GfK AG - Located in Germany. This is the largest market research company there, while being the 5th largest in the World.
- #5 Ipsos - Created in 1975, this is a global research company that’s based in Paris, France.
- #6 Synovate - Market research company owned by the Aegis Group. Headquartered in London. They boast to be one of the top 10 research companies in the world, doing over 500 million in sales annually.
- #7 IRI - Information Resources, Inc. provides clients with shopping and retail intelligence. 95% of their clientele include Fortune Global 500 companies.
- 8 Westat - Mainly servicing the U.S. Government, as well as other business, and foundations. They have more than 2,000 located in their Rockville, Maryland location.
You’re going to find that if you want to get a job with one of these companies, or you want to work with them, the price tag is going to be fairly high, but many will tell you that it’s worth it, based on the information that they can collect alone.
In the list mentioned above that I did research on, I found Ipsos is the only one that offers a good program that you can work with. While the others do accept people to help them out with surveys and research, the process is a little harder to get into.
