Making Money With Your Skills

It seems like everyone is always looking for ways to make money.  We want a lot of it, and we want to make it by doing easy things.  If you’re looking to add a few bucks to your pocket, you can easily do that if you have a few skills.  Let me show you what I mean.

Farmers Markets

Many people make a substantial part of their living by selling goods at local farmers markets.  These events usually occur on the weekends in larger towns and cities.  Farmers and other artisans rent spaces in the market and set up goods in which to sale their wares.  One can find everything from flowers to vegetables to clothing and other home goods at these farmer’s markets.

It is then possible for the individual to cash in on this opportunity and help support their local economy.  It does not cost much to get started and the rewards can be both financial and personal.  So, if you have some extra land, make use of it!

Flower Gardens

If you have a talent of putting beautiful bouquets of flowers together, let it make you money!  Selling home-grown flowers at farmers markets can be quite lucrative.  Bouquets of fresh flowers can easily fetch $5- $10 and possibly up to $30 depending on the varieties.  Shoppers expect to spend this amount when buying fresh flowers and are often more apt to buy when they can meet and speak with the person who grew them.  Putting your arrangements in simple hand-made vases is a way to enhance the presentation, as well as the price, of fresh flower bouquets.  It is important that many varieties of arrangements are available for the shopper.  The seller then has something to offer everyone, and his or her profits will reflect that.

Clothing

Shoppers who come to farmers markets are often looking for hand-sewn clothes, scarves, tablecloths, napkins, and quilts.  The amateur seamstress or designer can do very well at these markets, as people expect to pay more for handmade goods.  Even if the quality of the clothing is not runway-quality, that does not mean someone would not love to wear it.  People often look for such handmade goods to give away as gifts.  Farmers markets provide the budding clothing designer with an outlet for getting their work out into the consuming public.

These are all great hobbies to have, will make you money, and can all be done from home.  Start taking advantage of your skills, and that extra land that is just sitting there!
