If you want to make money on the side, a micro business is a great way to start.  If you’re looking for ways to make money, here are some tips you can use in order to do so.

Finding a market

Instead of creating a product and then trying to find a market to sell your product to, look for the easier way.  Find the market that is selling, even in this economic downturn people are still spending money you just need to find out where they are spending, with markets such as food, make-up, beauty, weight loss and fitness or dieting.  No matter what is happening to the economy these areas of business will always be multi-billion dollar industries.  Now that you have your potential buyers you can then create a product with these buyers in mind it’s guaranteed to sell.

Packaging your product

Now that you have your product you need to decided how to package, you can go two ways

- Exclusivity the customers after make-up and beauty products are often willing to pay high prices by using generic packaging and selling at low prices you are automatically telling your customer that this product is cheap, package it in a creative way that makes it look exclusive/ rustic you are saying this product is quality and deserves price tag.

- Bargain if you do not have a product that will stand up to the quality expected for high end prices you need to package the product in larger batches but that is still attractive, you can then sell to people or companies wanting bulk purchases or to people as a brand repayments but expect to be selling a very low price per item so when package do over spend.

Selling your product

Now that you have your product you need to sell there are a number of ways to do this

- If you want to keep within your living area try and Avon approach, door to door product selling it works great for all products mentioned above.  Make sure you have a variety of products to show, this is especially good around holidays but it also helps keep your costs low.

- For batch products try using eBay and seller websites people are always looking for a bargain and do not expect amazing quality for low prices.

- For your own luxury high price products it’s worth spending that bit extra for a website it will give you the benefit of a wider customer base but also be more professional and give your new brand a luxury image.
