Make Money on eBay for Beginners

Getting Started

The first thing you will need to do is set-up an EBay account. This is very simple and can be done by following the instructions from the register button on the homepage. The next important thing you will need to do is find things you want to sell on EBay. However, make sure you don’t list your items blindly! Search on EBay for the item YOU want to sell. Then, use the completed items tab on the left to see how much YOUR item has sold for in the past. This strategy will allow you to start your auction at a reasonable price and give you confidence that your item is priced right.

Shipping

On all listings, EBay requires you state how much a buyer will have to pay for shipping. A good idea is to go to www.usps.com or to your local post office to find out information on shipping within the US and also International shipping rates. EBay is an international company and you may be amazed at who actually purchases Grandma’s old china. Once you have this information you will be able to charge a reasonable rate for shipping and handling.

Listing Your Item

When listing your item, make sure the category you choose is accurate and that you compose an e thorough description. Short or inaccurate descriptions often result in low sale prices or a lack of traffic to an auction, to put a decent amount of effort into the words you choose.

Payment

The most recent phenomenon on EBay is the mandatory use of PayPal. So, make sure you establish a PayPal account. By using PayPal, your proceeds from auctions will go to PayPal and from there you can transfer your funds into your bank account.

Feedback

Once a transaction is complete, and you are satisfied, make sure to leave feedback on the website for the other party involved. This practice keeps EBay safe from scams and lets other users know who is trustworthy and who isn’t.

Count Your Money

When your auctions end, either start new ones, or simply count your earnings. Remember, you can always find new things to sell on EBay at yard sales or at antique shops. Don’t be confined to what you own now!
