How to Make Money

There are three basic rules to making money. Get started, win friends and influence people, and educate yourself. Using those three ideas, combined with hard work, may not guarantee that you’ll make millions, but you’ll definitely get a lot closer.
Get Started – Nobody ever made money just sitting on the couch watching television. Look through job openings in the newspaper, or online. Consider the work put into finding a job as the prep work to actually making money. Take the first job that you can get, and work from there. Consider Andrew Carnegie, the steel magnate from the late 19th century. His first job paid $1.20 per week. He eventually became the owner of one of the most profitable businesses in the United States, Carnegie Steel Company. The allegations that it takes being a trust-fund baby to become rich simply isn’t true.
Win Friends and Influence People – This phrase was made popular in 1936 by Dale Carnegie (no relation to Andrew Carnegie except that they both went from rags to riches). His book emphasizes one of the most important parts of making money, being able to be friendly and gain other people to your opinions. This is particularly important in business, as it allows a person to avoid conflict and create relationships with other people, particularly influential people, helping create opportunities for you. You never know when you may need a favor from someone, or if that person may someday be able to offer you a job or promotion.
Educate Yourself – There is no better way to “use” the system than to know how it works. Be aware of what industries are currently hiring, know who to contact in a certain company. Know how a certain industry you are interested in works. Learning these things open up opportunities that you may never have known existed. Also, being educated opens up promotional opportunities. It is not true that a college degree is required to ever have a decent salary, but being educated if only through good reading at the library certainly helps.
Making money takes patience, a positive attitude, and motivation. If you want to make a certain amount of money each year set goals! And to get there, consider a few of these steps.
