Amazon Mechanical Turk
Amazon.com offers an excellent service called Mechanical Turk, where workers can work on small tasks, called HITs, in exchange for small amounts of money. The great thing about Mechanical Turk is that you can work anytime, from anywhere. There are no rigid hours, and you can work anytime, from anywhere. This is a highly suggested means of making some extra cash for people who work a job such as night security guard where they have some amount of free time on the job. For people who don’t have a car, it’s also an excellent opportunity to generate income.
Seasonal labor
In areas such as the Midwest or the Plains, where there is a lot of agriculture, people can often get short-term jobs during the summer or early fall working for large farms. Some possible jobs include haying, where you generally grab hay bales as they are baled by a baler and load them onto a pick up truck. You then take them to a barn and unload them in order to keep them out of the weather and available as livestock feed for the rest of the year. In areas such as Florida or California, there is also great potential for picking fruit. These sorts of jobs actually kill two birds with one stone: while you’re making money, you are getting ripped and gaining a very nice sun tan.
Teacher’s assistant/substitute teacher
When you don’t have a lot of extra time, consider becoming a substitute teacher. You will get called in occasionally, but you will also have lots of down-time. This can be a great supplemental job. It often requires a college degree and/or some prior teaching experience though, so watch out. The position of teacher’s assistant is a little more demanding, but it too can bring in the dough.
