How Teachers Can Make Extra Money

1. Become a tutor or coach in a school or community program.

When thinking about teachers earning extra money, most people automatically think of tutoring or becoming a coach. These are two great options because it allows the teachers to build a stronger relationship with their teacher. Some schools offer tutoring programs through them, but if your school does not then you can tutor on your own outside of school. Some teachers may want to coach a specific sport their school does not offer, but they could always become a coach at another school or for a community set up program.

2. Get a weekend job such as bar-tending or babysitting.

Another option for teachers to make some extra money is to bartend on the weekends. This is a good job option because many teachers are already used to being up late at night so they could work Friday and Saturday nights. They could even work Sundays during sports games to get some extra money. However, if a teacher is feeling uncertain about working in a bar, they could just get another type of job on the weekends, even babysitting for example. This would also be a good option to teachers because one the children are asleep they can begin to work on their lesson plans. In fact, they can also get ideas or share lesson ideas with the children they are watching.

3. Have a summer job.

As everyone knows one of the perks of being a teacher is have the entire summer off. While some people may see this as an extended vacation, others see it as an opportunity to make some extra money. There are many different types of jobs a teacher can get in the summer, for example, babysitting, life guarding or working at an amusement park or popular vacation spot. Teachers could also look into temp positions or working with summer programs offered by schools to students during the day. Many people are taking vacations in the summer and this is the perfect opportunity for teachers to pick up those positions.
