Easy Ways to Make Money

Many people who are looking for opportunities to make some cash on the side are frustrated by the scams that are abundant on the internet.  However, there are some legitimate opportunities as well. 

Job Sites

These sites such as Elance, Helium, and Mturk are websites that provide users with individual opportunities to use their skills to complete paying jobs.  Mturk has many small tasks, some of which require specialized knowledge, but many of which only require a little effort and time.  The rewards for approved completion of these jobs start at one cent and generally are small amounts.  But, if you are looking for a little extra income that can be earned on your own time with virtually no commitment, this is an option.  Elance requires more qualification and has more sophisticated work to offer as well as higher pay for those jobs.  As indicated by its name, it is more of a source for freelance jobs.  Other sites exist, such as Helium, which pay for specific content provided.

Sell Stuff

Think of it as having a yard sale on your computer instead of on your lawn.  You can make money selling a variety of items–clothes that your kids have outgrown, gifts that you have no use for, items from a hobby you no longer have time for, etc.  Or you could kick it up a notch and make it more of an online storefront.  Find a niche that you can profit from.  Some people buy secondhand items refurbish them and sell them online for a profit.  Some people acquire rare collectibles and offer them online.  Ebay and Craigslist are the most popular online selling sites.  Just be sure to exercise caution in dealing with customers online. 

Advertise

If you already have a blog or website of your own, you could consider monetizing it by adding advertising.  Google, for instance, places ads on your site and pays you when visitors to your site click on them or make purchases from them.  Depending on the content and popularity of your site, you may be able to make a deal with individual businesses.

With a little time, effort, and creativity there are some legitimate ways to make money on the internet.  To start with, consider a few of these ideas above or think outside the box!
